Leonida Navigator
Leonida Navigator (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an unofficial companion map and checklist for players. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we look after it, and the choices and rights you have. We are committed to the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
The responsible party (data controller) is Blue Rockets. For any privacy question or request, contact us at admin@bluerockets.co.za.
If you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address and, where you sign in with Google, your display name. We use a third-party sign-in provider (Google) and Firebase Authentication to manage this.
In community areas your posts are shown under a pseudonymous handle derived from a one-way hash of your account identifier. Your name and email are never displayed to other users.
To let your progress follow you across devices, we store which spots you have marked as found, and a count of your accepted contributions. When you enable push notifications we store your device’s messaging token so we can tell you when a spot you submitted is reviewed.
If you leave “Share anonymous diagnostics” switched on in Settings, we collect crash reports and non-personal usage events (for example, which screen was opened, or the region/category of a contribution) through Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics. This data does not include your name, email, coordinates, photos, or the text you write. You can turn it off at any time in Settings.
Your theme, filters, last-entered position, challenge streaks and “last seen” markers are stored locally on your device and are not sent to us.
We process your information on the basis of your consent (which you may withdraw), to perform the service you have asked for, and for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the app. You are not obliged to provide personal information, but some features (such as posting or syncing progress) require an account.
We do not sell your personal information. We use trusted operators to run the service:
These providers may process data on servers outside South Africa. Where information is transferred across borders, we rely on the providers’ safeguards and process it in line with POPIA.
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Rejected contributions are removed. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see below).
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
To exercise any of these, email admin@bluerockets.co.za. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
To request deletion of your account and personal information, see Delete your account, or email admin@bluerockets.co.za from your account email address. We will delete your account data and remove your contributions and posts, subject to any records we must keep for legal or security reasons.
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit what we collect.
The app relates to a game intended for a mature audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
